PUPR Ministry Claims IKN First Batch Progress Reaches 38.1%

Losergeek.org.CO, Jakarta – The Ministry for Public Works and Housing (PUPR) through the IKN Task Force of Infrastructure Development said that the development progress of the Nusantara State Capital (IKN) in East Kalimantan has reached 38.1%.

“The total progress for IKN development in its first stage reached 38.1% on August 3,” said the task force leader Danis Sumadilaga to Antara in Jakarta, on Monday, August 14, 2023.

Danis added that the first batch of IKN development consisted of projects that were built since 2021, namely the first phase of the IKN Access toll road, Sepaku Semoi Dam, State Palace, and Presidential Office.

The PUPR Ministry also has started the second batch of IKN development, consisting of projects inked during the April-May 2023 period, namely the coordinating ministry’s office building and IKN civil servant apartment complex.

IKN’s vision to become a smart forest city is the guideline for IKN development. The infrastructures are built gradually while heedful of the environment. IKN is intended to shift the development orientation to be Indonesia-centric and to accelerate Indonesia’s economic transformation.

For the beginning phase of IKN development, the ministry focuses its attention on the development of the central core of the government area. IKN will have a 70% green area, 80% public transportation, and reduced temperature by 2 degrees Celsius.

The distance between places in IKN is predicted to be less than 10 minutes of mobility. IKN is expected to become an inclusive, open, and friendly city to live in.
